NTPC Ltd dropped for a fifth straight session today. The stock is quoting at Rs 297.8, down 0.07% on the day as on 13:19 IST on the NSE. The benchmark NIFTY is up around 0.22% on the day, quoting at 22650.05. The Sensex is at 73281.69, up 0.22%.NTPC Ltd has lost around 7.26% in last one month.Meanwhile, Nifty Energy index of which NTPC Ltd is a constituent, has eased around 5.13% in last one month and is currently quoting at 34520.05, up 0.84% on the day. The volume in the stock stood at 41.16 lakh shares today, compared to the daily average of 89.41 lakh shares in last one month.

The benchmark October futures contract for the stock is quoting at Rs 298.1, up 0.52% on the day. NTPC Ltd tumbled 12.86% in last one year as compared to a 12.77% slide in NIFTY and a 2.71% fall in the Nifty Energy index.

The PE of the stock is 12.18 based on TTM earnings ending June 26.
