In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index jumped 148.80 points or 0.65% to 23,146.15.


The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of the market's expectation of volatility over the near term, posted modest gains of 0.27%.


Vodafone Idea Ltd, Yes Bank Ltd and Vodafone Idea Ltd were the top-traded individual stock futures contracts in the F&O segment of the NSE.


The October 2026 F&O contracts will expire on 27 October 2026.
