The Nifty October 2026 futures closed at 22,618.40, a premium of 15.35 points compared with the Nifty's closing at 22,603.05 in the cash market

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index dropped sharply 173.05 points or 0.76% to 22,603.05.


The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of the market's expectation of volatility over the near term, posted modest gains of 2.04%.


Vodafone Idea Ltd, Yes Bank Ltd and Suzlon Energy Ltd were the top-traded individual stock futures contracts in the F&O segment of the NSE.


The October 2026 F&O contracts will expire on 27 October 2026.
