NMHEP is located on river tons, a major tributary of river Yamuna in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. The NMHEP is run of the river project with two generating units of 30 MW each and first unit is already generating commercially since 24 November 2023. The project will generate 265.5 million units of electricity annually. The company has constructed 37 km 220 KV transmission line for evacuation of power from Naitwar Mori HEP from Bainol to Snail. ?After commissioning of the project, 12% free electricity will be supplied to the state of Uttarakhand as royalty. In addition, each project affected family will be provided with an amount equivalent to cost of 100 units of electricity per month for ten years. The project will usher an era of overall development of the area with infrastructure development and generation of direct & indirect employment,? the company stated in the press relase. The company has set a mission of 12,000 MW by 2026 and shared vision of 50,000 MW installed capacity by 2040, said SJVN. SJVN is an Indian public sector undertaking having business interests in hydro, thermal, solar, wind and in power transmission & power trading. It is a joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh. The company's consolidated net profit declined 1.3% to Rs 439.64 crore in Q2 FY24 as against Rs 445.44 crore in Q2 FY23. Net sales fell marginally to Rs 878.36 crore in Q2 FY24 from Rs 878.48 crore reported in the same period a year ago. Shares of SJVN declined 1.01% to Rs 83.51 on the BSE.
