Reliance Communications Limited has received notification from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) terminating the spectrum assigned to the company and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Reliance Telecom Limited, acquired through auctions in 2010, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016. The termination, effective immediately, stems from alleged non-compliance with terms and conditions outlined in prior notices, including payment obligations and roll-out obligations, and follows a judgment by the Supreme Court of India dated February 13, 2026. The DoT has directed the RCOM Group of Companies to cease operations utilizing the spectrum, and Reliance Communications is currently evaluating the implications, which include potential impacts on the company's resolution plan currently under review by the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) in Mumbai.
